Ekta Kapoor Added Nudity Clause In Contract To Ensure Actors Don’t Refuse To Shoot Sex Scenes; Deets Inside!

With the advent of OTT, TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor also tried her hands at making web series. She has catered to the interests of the younger generation with several shows on Alt Balaji. While most of her digital outings on the app have got appreciation, there are some which have been called out for their bold scenes.

Recently, Supreme Court slammed Kapoor for showing objectional content in her web show, XXX. But did you know that even before this steamy show grabbed limelight, the producer had introduced a special nudity clause in her contract for actors? If not, read on!

As per media reports of 2015, before coming up with her own OTT platform on April 16, 2017, Ekta had planned to make XXX as a feature film, and for this she even introduced the ‘nudity clause’ so that actors won’t hesitate or refuse to shoot sex scenes. Calendar Girls actor Kyra Dutt was among the first actor to sign the contract. But destiny took her to a different route. Two year later, Ekta launched ALT Balaji which fulfilled her dream of showing adult content without the fear of censorship.

In a blink of eye, ALT Balaji became a super success. Shows like XXX, Ragini MMS Returns, Bekaaboo, Gandii Baat, and Dev DD which had explicit scenes played a major role in its popularity. Following Kapoor’s footsteps, other producers also started making soft porn for their streaming platforms.

For unversed, in October this year, the Supreme Court stated that Ekta was ‘polluting the minds’ of the younger generation of India. Ekta’s advocate  replied to the court by saying that the content on Alt Balaji is subscription-based and that there is freedom of choice in this country.
