‘I Was Fired From Many Projects Due To Pregnancy’, Neha Dhupia Expresses Her Pain; Read Here To Know More!

Neha Dhupia has made her own identity in Bollywood on the strength of her acting. These days she is making headlines for her film ‘A Thursday’, which has recently been released on the OTT platform. Apart from Neha Dhupia, the film also stars Yami Gautam and Atul Kulkarni in lead roles.  Neha has played the role of a police officer in this film, who is pregnant. In real life too, the actress has become the mother of two children. Recently, she gave an interview in which the actress recalled her pregnancy days. During this, Neha has revealed that she was fired from the film when she was pregnant.

In this interview, the actress has told a lot about her personal and professional life. The actress has revealed that when she was pregnant for the first time, she was thrown out of many projects. Neha Dhupia said, “I have been pregnant before. During Mehr’s (Neha Dhupia’s daughter) time I had to make my job. Then I started doing my own podcasts and non-fiction TV shows. I have always worked till the end. But the industry always changes. I was a part of a few projects before announcing the pregnancy. But later I was fired from those projects. Was there anything wrong with it?”

Neha Dhupia further said, “Body changes happen and then you don’t want to play that character. At the same time, it also happens that the people who hired you do not want you to appear that way. And that’s what happened.” Neha Dhupia also told in this interview how she got the film ‘A Thursday’? She said that I had lost all projects even during the second wave (COVID-19). That was my last attempt. Then I had given up. Then I told the film team that I am five months pregnant and will you keep me or throw me out? It’s your choice because it’s your film. Then he replied to me in a minute and said that we will not remove you from the film.

Talking about the film, ‘A Thursday’ has been released on Disney Plus Hotstar. In this film, Yami Gautam is seen playing the character of Naina Jaiswal who happens to be a teacher. She takes 16 children hostage in the film and demands five crores. Neha Dhupia played the role of ACP Catherine Alvarez in this film.
