Kangana Ranaut has enlisted the help of famous prosthetic makeup artist David Malinowski for her forthcoming film Emergency. Indira Gandhi will be played by the actress in the political drama. “Welcome to the team Emergency @djmalinowski,” she captioned a photo of herself with the artist on Instagram stories.

“Please to have Academy Award-winning artist for character transformation in Emergency,” she added to her following story. Kangana has also included snippets from David’s film workshop session. It read, “Exciting transformation for my second directorial.” David Malinowski has received several honours, including the 2018 BAFTA and the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling for his work in the 2017 film Darkest Hour. World War Z (2013) and The Batman are two of his previous films (2022).

In 2021, Kangana revealed her project Emergency. While Kangana will direct the film. Ritesh Shah is writing the script for the film. Shah has previously written films such as “Pink,” “Kahaani,” and “Kahaani 2,” among others. Last year, she gave an update about the film on Koo.

“Pleased to wear director’s hat again, after working on Emergency for more than a year I finally figured no one can direct it better than me. Collaborating with fabulous writer Ritesh Shah, even if it means sacrificing on various acting assignments I am determined to do it, my excitement is high. This is going to be a tremendous journey, my leap to another league #Emergency #Indira.”

An emergency isn’t a biography of Indira Gandhi, according to Kangana. In a statement, she explained that the film is a “political drama that will help the generation understand the socio-political landscape of current India.”

Meanwhile, Kangana was most recently seen in the film ‘Dhaakad.’ Kangana Ranaut plays ‘Agent Agni’ in a never-before-seen incarnation in which she spars with the ferocious adversary, Arjun Rampal. Divya Dutta plays a pivotal part in the film. The film debuted to high anticipation and competed at the box office with Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. However, it failed to draw a crowd to the theatres.

Next, she has a diverse filmography that includes ‘Tejas,’ in which she will portray an Air Force pilot, and ‘Sita: The Incarnation,’ among others.
