Karan Johar Roast Student Of The Year; Says, “Why Is The Script So Bad?”

Karan Johar introduced three fresh faces in 2012 with his 2012 film “Student of the Year”: Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. Ten years later, KJo decided to criticize his film on his talk programme, “Koffee With Karan.” The director jokingly mocked “SOTY” while chatting with Sidharth and Vicky Kaushal. Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra were guests on Karan Johar’s Koffee with Karan Season 7 this week. Vicky and Sidharth talked about their work paths throughout the show. In addition, Karan discussed his initial reservations about making Student of the Year, Sidharth’s feature film debut.

What did you suppose Student of the Year was about? Karan said, recalling Sidharth’s scene where he was covered in water. The movie script? There was no setting for performance, either. None of them received a debut honour. Every debut prize went to Ayushmann Khurrana, he claimed. The director jokes, “Which depth did you have in the character? ” when Sidharth argued that the characters had depth. What movie are you referring to?

Four days into filming, according to Karan, he was seated next to Abhishek Varman, the film’s creative director. Then he asked, “Why are we creating this movie? “, to Abhishek. You’ve read the script, right? “Karan, what are you doing?” questioned Abhishek. I made the impulsive decision to read the entire script.

You’re just undervaluing yourself, said Sidharth. “What we ultimately shot was extremely different from what the real screenplay was,” Karan concluded. We adjusted that. I have no memory of my actions. I believe I was intoxicated or something. When I first began filming, I thought, “Why is the screenplay so bad?” It was fun to watch, but it went through each step independently.

Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra, and Alia Bhatt all found success after appearing in Student of the Year. In 2022, the movie will celebrate its tenth anniversary of release.
