Nandita Das Zwigato, Kapil Sharma Sheds His Comic Humor As An Orthodox Husband

The first image from Nandita Das’ Zwigato, a film starring Kapil Sharma. Although the official trailer for the movie hasn’t yet been released, this sneak peek featured a sequence between Kapil and Shahana Goswami, who portrays his wife in the movie. The world premiere of the movie Zwigato will take place at the Toronto International Film Festival this year, thus the festival’s Twitter account published the movie’s trailer.

In this role, Kapil, who is typically known for his comedic performances, takes a risk by portraying a man who is trying to make ends meet and is also enmeshed in patriarchal social conventions because he cannot stomach the idea that his spouse could earn more than him. Kapil Sharma is the newest food delivery rider on the show Zwigato, which explores the gig economy. Shahana Goswami portrays his wife, a stay-at-home mom who begins working for the first time to support his salary. The movie, which is set in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, depicts what an “average” family goes through in the post-pandemic world. It is a tale of life’s constant struggle, yet there are also shared moments of happiness. It is bitter-sweet, just like life.

In a statement, director Nandita Das remarked, “Zwigato is now ready! A tale about the new urban India that explores everything that has become normal to us, not just the gig economy. In Sameer Nair, I discovered the ideal co-producer to help me tell this straightforward yet nuanced slice-of-life story. Its upcoming premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival makes me ecstatic (TIFF). This is very important to me because I made my acting and directing debut there with the films Fire and Firaaq, accordingly. Other movies have brought me to TIFF throughout the years. I’m hoping that the film’s universal topic will strike a chord with the great international audience that the festival draws.

TIFF 2022 will run from September 8 to September 18 this year. Kapil recently expressed his gratitude for his director Nandita Das on his social media sites. He posted a photo of himself with the legendary director on Instagram along with the caption, “Me with my most talented, hardworking actor, writer, and pagal director @nanditadasofficial.”

The host and his crew were on a tour of the United States and Canada, therefore Kapil’s comedy show is temporarily on break. Later, they also departed for an Australian tour. The production team of the programme recently announced that they are seeking additional performers to join the cast.
