Genome sequencing (genetic sequencing) facility has been started at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. With this, Rajasthan has become the first state in the country to provide a complete genome sequencing facility at the state level. Medical and Health Minister Dr. Raghu Sharma said that a genome sequencing facility has been made available in the state to prevent corona. The technique of genome sequencing can provide information about new types of viruses. He informed that the genome sequencing facility has been prepared by spending about one crore rupees in SMS Medical College. He said that genome sequencing of about 100 samples of coronavirus has been done. According to the investigation report, a delta type of virus has been found in about 90 percent of these samples while the remaining 10 percent samples have been confirmed to be infected with B1.1 type.
