Actor Raveena Tandon has opened up in detail about the shocking mob incident that unfolded outside her Mumbai residence in 2024, revealing how she physically confronted an intruder who allegedly tried to enter her home during the chaos.
The actor recalled that the incident began after false allegations were made against her driver, eventually escalating into what she described as a frightening extortion attempt involving nearly 30 men gathered outside her house.
Speaking in a recent interview with ETimes, Raveena said the entire situation spiralled dangerously despite no accident or assault actually taking place. She claimed the allegations against her driver were completely fabricated and that CCTV footage later helped establish the truth.
“Luckily, we had CCTV cameras, and the truth came out immediately,” the actor said while recalling the ordeal. According to Raveena, police later informed her that the entire incident appeared to be an “extortion plan” designed to intimidate her and extract money.
The controversy originally erupted in June 2024 after viral videos surfaced online showing a family accusing Raveena and her driver of physically assaulting a woman near her Bandra residence in Mumbai. Social media quickly amplified the allegations before police investigations and CCTV footage reportedly contradicted those claims.
Now, nearly two years later, Raveena has described what she says actually happened that night. According to the actor, she initially stepped outside her house only because she wanted to peacefully resolve the situation involving a group of women who were allegedly guests in the neighbourhood.
She explained that her driver had lowered a woman’s phone after she attempted to record inside the property, which then escalated tensions. Raveena claimed the woman threatened to file a rape complaint against the driver simply because he touched her phone.
Fearing the serious consequences of such allegations for her longtime employee, Raveena decided to intervene personally. However, once she stepped outside, she found a crowd of nearly 30 men gathered outside her gate.
“My driver pulled me back inside the gate, but he himself got stuck outside,” she recalled. According to the actor, the mob then began physically attacking him and even assaulted another watchman who tried to block their path.
Raveena said she reopened the gate and dragged her driver back inside to protect him from the crowd. She further revealed that the situation became even more dangerous when one man allegedly managed to enter her home during the commotion.
“A man even got into my house, and I’ve actually caught him by his shirt and thrown him out,” she said.
The actor described the entire episode as “crazy,” explaining that only three women, including herself and two domestic helpers, were trying to block the mob while waiting for police to arrive.
She also said members of the crowd allegedly threatened her, demanding that she hand over her driver to them. According to Raveena, they warned her that otherwise she would “find his dead body the next day.” (turn0search9)
The actor stressed that her driver had worked with the family for nearly a decade and was “like a son” to them. She insisted she could not abandon him to an angry crowd based on false accusations.
Police investigations following the incident reportedly found no evidence supporting claims that Raveena or her driver assaulted anyone. CCTV footage from the area was said to have played a crucial role in clarifying the sequence of events.
The actor’s latest revelations have shocked many fans online, especially because the viral clips from 2024 had initially created a very different public perception of the incident.
