Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia’s upcoming film The Vvaan: Force of the Forest has landed in a music controversy just days before its theatrical release. Independent singer-composer Sargam Vaish has accused the makers of using his version of ‘Aigiri Nandini’ in the film’s trailer without his permission. To back his claim, Vaish shared a video comparing his original track with the portion heard in the trailer. In his Instagram video, Sargam Vaish claimed that he had been working on his version of Aigiri Nandini for around three years.

According to him, nearly 25 seconds of the track, heard between approximately 1:08 and 1:33 of The Vvaan trailer, matches his work. Let us tell you that Vaish alleged that it wasn’t merely a similar composition, the master recording, production and vocals from his track were used. He also said he had not given permission for the music to be used in the film’s trailer or its promotion. Rather than simply making the allegation, Vaish used his video to play his own version alongside the trailer, allowing viewers to compare the two recordings.

He has publicly asked the makers to remove the song from both the trailer and the film. He also said that if there is a valid licence or permission for its use, he would like the relevant details to be provided to him. Otherwise, he warned that his legal team could take the matter forward. The controversy has also raised questions within the music industry about how Vaish’s alleged original master recording could have reached the film’s production team.

A CBFC member has reportedly questioned the circumstances surrounding the use of the master recording, adding another layer to the ongoing discussion. However, the allegations have not been established as a finding of copyright infringement, and the film’s makers have not, in the sources reviewed, publicly accepted Vaish’s claims.
