Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has revealed in one of his interviews that he told his father Suresh Oberoi that he would give up his surname to struggle in the film industry. Vivek also told his father that he did not want his father Suresh Oberoi to make a film for him. This is about the time when Vivek Oberoi was about 22 years old. It is worth noting that Vivek Oberoi had stepped into the film industry from Ram Gopal Varma’s film company. This film was released in the year 2002. After this Vivek Oberoi acted in several films including Road, Dum, Saathiya, Masti, Yuva, Kisna: The Warrior Poet, Omkara, Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istanbul, Rakt Charitra, Bank Chor and PM Narendra Modi.

In one of his interviews, Vivek Oberoi said that he went to his father when he was 22 or 23 years old. He told his father, “I don’t want you to make a film for me.” To this his father’s reaction was ‘Are you mad?’ To this Vivek Oberoi had said, “No, I don’t want you to make a film for me at all. You did everything on your own.” On this, father Suresh Oberoi told him that he had to struggle a lot for this. The struggle is very difficult.

Vivek says that after hearing this he told his father, “I will also struggle.” To this the father said, “oh how can you fight? You are Suresh Oberoi’s son.” Vivek says that after this he told his father that “I will leave your surname.” Vivek Oberoi told his father, “I will remain only Vivek Anand and I will fight. I would go door to door; I would go office-to-office. I will be standing in queues. I will go and take my portfolio, awards and certificates that I have.” Talking about Vivek’s upcoming films, he will be seen working in ‘Iti: Can You Solve Your Own Murder’ and Malayalam film ‘Kaduva’.
