A controversy over late-night construction noise in Mumbai’s Juhu area has taken a fresh turn after Asit Kumar Modi issued a clarification distancing himself from the property at the center of the dispute. The issue first gained attention when television actress Urvashi Dholakia voiced her frustration over ongoing construction work disturbing residents late at night.

Urvashi Dholakia Flags Midnight Nuisance
Urvashi Dholakia took to social media to highlight the inconvenience caused by construction activity in her neighborhood. She described loud drilling noises and work continuing well beyond permitted hours, calling it a midnight nuisance that has been severely affecting the sleep and well-being of residents. The actress also tagged local municipal authorities, urging them to intervene and ensure that construction rules are properly enforced.

Amid growing speculation, a statement was released by the concerned parties, including Jignesh and the contractor M/s Mehta & Co., clarifying that the property in question does not belong to Asit Kumar Modi. According to the statement, the construction is being carried out with all necessary approvals, and Modi has no connection to the site. The statement also objected to his name being dragged into the controversy, calling the allegations misleading.

Responding to the situation, Asit Kumar Modi firmly denied any involvement. He stated that he has no association with the property and expressed surprise at being linked to the issue. He further added that Urvashi Dholakia could have reached out to him directly for clarification before making public claims. Earlier, Urvashi had alleged that the property belonged to Modi and his family, prompting her to demand immediate action from authorities.

She also shared her frustration over the lack of response from law enforcement. According to her, she made multiple calls to the police emergency number between 4:23 AM and 4:55 AM but did not receive any assistance. “I kept waiting downstairs at my building… and no one came,” she said, expressing disappointment over the inaction.
