After tying the knot with longtime partner Rohan Thakkar in an intimate yet lavish ceremony in Mumbai, the social media influencer and sister of actor Arjun Kapoor took to Instagram to explain the sentimental details woven into her wedding ensemble.

A 42-Year-Old Heirloom Close to Her Heart
For her big day, Anshula chose to wear a breathtaking antique rose lehenga adorned with layered emerald and pearl jewellery. However, the most treasured part of her bridal look was a 42-year-old heirloom dupatta that once belonged to her late mother. The gold tissue dupatta, intricately crafted with traditional zardosi work, was gracefully draped over her bridal outfit, allowing Anshula to keep her mother’s memory close as she began a new chapter in life. She also paired the ensemble with a Bandhani Ghar Chola dupatta, paying tribute to the family she was becoming a part of through marriage.

Sharing photographs from the ceremony, Anshula revealed that the entire bridal outfit was designed around the heirloom piece. She wrote that designer Tarun Tahiliani, along with stylist Mohit Rai and Ruchi Krishna Styles, carefully crafted every detail to complement her mother’s dupatta. According to Anshula, the outfit celebrated multiple Indian craft traditions, including intricate Kasida embroidery, rich zardosi work, and delicate Phulkari borders that reflected her Punjabi roots.

The colour palette featured antique rose, blush, and soft gold tones, making the ensemble deeply personal and timeless. Expressing gratitude to Tarun Tahiliani, Anshula said the designer beautifully translated her vision into reality and created a bridal look that perfectly reflected her identity while preserving the emotional significance of her mother’s heirloom. Anshula is the daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the late Mona Shourie Kapoor, who passed away on March 25, 2012, after battling cancer.

Anshula Kapoor married longtime boyfriend Rohan Thakkar in Mumbai after several years together. Their wedding festivities were attended by close family and friends, with members of the Kapoor family celebrating the couple’s new journey together.
