Actress Alia Bhatt requested that actor Karan Johar “stop talking about” her on his popular celebrity chat programme Koffee With Karan, according to filmmaker Karan Johar. On the 13th and last episode of the season 7 of the programme, which aired on Thursday, Tanmay Bhat, Kusha Kapila, Niharika NM, and Danish Sait interrogated him. On a range of subjects, including mentioning Alia Bhatt and supporting Janhvi Kapoor over Sara Ali Khan, Karan was grilled by his guests.

They claimed Karan talked frequently about Alia Bhatt, so did she, Karan inquired in the episode. Tanmay jokingly added, “Listen Karan, she’s expecting you got a new person to introduce, we get that,” while Kusha said, “There is talk online.” Karan yelled, “Oh no, that’s not why,” after a little pause. He went on, “In all honesty, Alia and I had a conversation about this, so I must be extremely vigilant. Trying not to appear ungrateful, she says, “Karan, you need to stop talking about me.” Okay, I think, this information has come directly from the source, therefore I should stop talking about it.”

Karan further added, “The other day, I even wore a jacket with the word “Italia” on it, and everyone just assumed it had Alia written on it. I’ve gotten to the point where I’m donning a blazer with her name.” Danish compared how many times Alia speaks “Shiva” in Brahmastra to how many times Karan uses Alia’s name on the show. Karan said, “Alia is incredibly beautiful. I mention her name although there is no connection to her. I got it.”

Then Kusha continued, “Her name is frequently cited while discussing the best actors and actresses in the nation. You want to hear a name, and we know it. Why do you think Alia Bhatt is the culprit, and who do you think it is?” Karan chuckled and remarked, “I should stop talking now, but I genuinely believe it’s Alia Bhatt. If I continue, I will render the entire conversation useless. Okay, how about we swear on Instagram? I promise to limit Alia Bhatt’s mentions on Koffee With Karan going forward (keeping his hand on his phone).”

Later in the show, Alia picks up the phone and demands Karan to stop talking about her. She even suggests that he start defaming her going forward. She shouted “Shiva” during the call as well. Alia will appear in Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, Karan’s return to directing.
