The actress revealed that she has reached a point in her career where massive budgets and larger-than-life projects no longer influence her decisions.

Her comments come after she opted out of two highly anticipated films starring Prabhas, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit and the second installment of Kalki. Deepika has now clarified that ₹500-crore films do not excite her anymore. Deepika, who has worked in films like Chhapaak and 83 through her production house KA Productions, explained why she is choosing her projects more thoughtfully now.

She said, “Anything that doesn’t feel real to me isn’t right for me. Sometimes people offer a lot of money and think it’s enough, but it’s not. And the opposite is also true, some things may not be big in terms of business, but if I have faith in the people or myself, I’ll stick to it.” Deepika admitted she wasn’t always this clear-minded, “Was I always this clear-cut? Probably not. But I’ve reached that clarity now. Do I sometimes look back and think, ‘What was I thinking?’ Absolutely. Maybe 10 years from now, I’ll question some of the choices I’m making today. But right now, they feel honest.”

In her interview, Deepika emphasized that massive budgets are not what motivate her today, “Right now, it’s not about films that cost 100 crore or 500–600 crore rupees. What excites me is empowering other talent. My team and I now focus on what the story is and what the other elements are.” This marks a notable shift for one of Bollywood’s highest-paid actresses, who has delivered several big-budget blockbusters over the years.
