Television actress Dalljiet Kaur might have achieved great heights in her career but the journey of reaching such a point has not been easy. She has gone through tough times during her six years long marriage with Shalin Bhanot and post her divorce with him.

In a recent interview, Kaur opened up on standing strong through her difficult times. She also revealed about running out of money after her ugly separation from Bhanot.

Dalljiet said that the divorce period of her life was the worst feeling and she took a long time to come to terms with it. Recalling the time when she did not even have bucks to buy monthly ration and feed her son Jaydon, the actress shared that the phase was crazy as she had to decide between her son’s education and monthly ration. And when she decided to pay for Jaydon’s education, people called it a stupid decision.

The 40-year-old further revealed losing 34 kgs within six months to look young. “was 86 kg after her pregnancy. So, I had to work hard to restart my acting career, which I had left after marriage,” she stated.

Dalljiet had accused Shalin and her in-laws of domestic violence and dowry. In a previous interview, she had also disclosed how problems started cropping up from the next day of her wedding itself.

She had said that her mother-in-law stopped talking to her because she wasn’t happy with the gifts received from Dalljiet’s influential family.

Over the last few years, Shalin and Dalljiet have become cordial with each other. In fact, Shalin revealed that before entering the Bigg Boss house, his last call was with Daljeet. He also said that she wished him luck for this new venture.

For the uninitiated, Dalljiet Kaur and Shain Bhanot first met on the set of the serial ‘Kulvadhu’. They dated for a brief period before tying knot in 2009. Their relationship hit a rough patch soon after. The duo has a son named Jaydon together. In 2015, they parted ways on a bitter note.
