How Old Should You Be To Have A Facelift And Reap The Benefits Of Facelift Surgery

When someone is thinking about having a facelift, the decision to go ahead with that is one that is very personal to them. This is why it is very difficult for anyone to advise on what the best course of advice is or at what age you should have a face lift. One reason for this is because the individual lifestyles that people have and the diets that they eat can seriously impact on the appearance of their face. For instance, a 60 year old living a good lifestyle can actually look younger than a 50 year old living a bad one.

That being said, it is best to always opt to go under the knife as young as possible as the skin on the face is more elastic the younger you are. Whilst the results from a facelift are still good at an older age, the effects of it will not last as long as when done on a younger person.

Age 35 to 40

For most people it is pretty rare to either need or want a facelift in beverly hills during their thirties. However, for those individuals that do want some work done, then there are a number of non invasive procedures that they can opt for in order to make them look a little bit fresher. These include:

  • Microneedling
  • Dermal fillers
  • Dermabrasion
  • Lip filler
  • Double chin treatment
  • Botox
  • Chemical peels

Age 40 to 50

When a facelift is done to a person during their forties, it has much better and longer lasting results than when it is done later on in life. Between these ages, it is recommended to have the following treatments:

  • Fat transfer – fat is taken from one part of the body and injected into the face in order to put some volume back into it. The treatment is perfect for filling out hollows to achieve a younger look.
  • Neck lift / face lift – gets rid of any jowls that are sagging down and improves other parts of the face that have laxity. The effects of this type of treatment are very long lasting, between 10 and 15 years.

Age 50 and up

For those people that are of 50 years of age and older, the following treatments are recommended in order to achieve a younger, fresher appearance:

  • Pan facial rejuvenation – this is perfect for those people that are looking into having their first ever facelift. It works to rejuvenate both the neck and the entire face area to give a more natural and aesthetically pleasing look.
  • Secondary facelift – when the effects of an initial facelift are starting to become lost, then a secondary facelift can provide something of a much needed refresh for individuals in their late 50s or early 60s.

For those individuals that prefer treatments and therapies that are more holistic and do not use synthetic materials, then visit a naturopathic doctor instead. Although they make diagnoses and assessments in the same way as conventional doctors, their overall philosophy is greatly different.
