Janhvi Kapoor gave us a tour of her luxurious Chennai villa. It was Sridevi’s first home purchase, which she treasured. Janhvi highlighted her favourite spaces in the home, including a bathroom that made her think of Greece and a wall covered in portraits from Sridevi and Boney Kapoor’s wedding.

Janhvi Kapoor gave fans a rare glimpse into the first home that Sridevi bought and cherished. She noted it was ‘very different’ when her late mother purchased the property. According to Janhvi, her mother chose to decorate it post her marriage using pieces she had gathered while travelling the world. Janhvi also explained why her mother-owned bathroom, which is located inside of her bedroom, still lacks a lock.

In a new video, the actor showed off her Chennai bungalow, featuring a guest appearance by her father, Boney Kapoor. The producer could be seen sitting inside his home office in the video. Also, Janhvi’s aunt and other relatives could be seen. After Sridevi passed away in 2018, Janhvi revealed that the property was renovated in her late mother’s honour so that the family could gather there to commemorate her.

“Aside from the memories, one thing I love about this place is how much of the past it retains while also embracing some of the presents. Simple things like the lack of a lock on the door to the bathroom in my room, which I recall my mother refusing to install because she was so afraid I might talk to boys in there. I was so prohibited from putting a lock on my bathroom. Now that the room has been decorated, my bathroom still lacks a lock,” said Janhvi.

Janhvi gave Vogue India a tour of her home and showed off some of her favourite spots, including a corner that was decorated with a painting by Subhash Awchat. The mansion is also crammed with artwork that the late Sridevi not only collected but also some of which she painted herself, including one of her very first works. Janhvi Kapoor also discussed her argument with Boney over a white wall in the bungalow that her father had painted with gold paint.

Janhvi then took fans into the dining room before a family lunch. She also disclosed an inside “secret room” that she was still unsure of. She remarked, “I don’t know what’s in there, possibly something shady. As she walked a staircase, Janhvi showed the fans her “favourite part of the house”: a wall covered in old family pictures. She also gave her fans an insight into the TV room, the gym and other places she loves.

Janhvi most recently appeared in the movie Mili as a restaurant worker who gets accidentally locked in a freezer. She will now appear in Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal, set for release in April of next year, alongside Varun Dhawan. Alongside Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi is now filming Mr and Mrs Mahi, in which she portrays a cricket player.
