In terms of movies, Monami Ghosh has had a successful summer. The premiere of Belaseshe on May 1, 2015, marked a watershed moment. Belashuru, directed by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukhopadhyay, premieres on May 20 and marks a momentous occasion. In the film, Monami takes on the role of Piu, the youngest child and the family’s biggest softie. The stunning actress sat down with The Telegraph weeks back. Let us see what they conversed

Monami thinks that Piu, her fictional character, will live on in the hearts of fans forever. For her, this film marks a turning point. After hearing the Belaseshe script for the first time, she was initially perplexed. Whether she should go through with it, she was unsure. Such a large number of actors were assembled. She was at a loss on how to utilise it. She took a long time to decide on it. She felt very at home in the company of Shiboprasad and Nandita. She enjoys her time spent collaborating with them very much. She heeded their advice and listened in. She realised that shooting Belaseshe was a big deal since she knew it would be a significant film for her. When it was finally made public, it changed the world.

Monami stated that it was like a reunion of family members, so naturally, she was pleased and excited. She claimed that it felt as if they were all together again, at the annual family reunion. That another landmark event, like Belaseshe, was imminent was clear to her.

She mentioned that It was incredibly frantic for her because she was also involved with another shoot in Calcutta at the same time. The Tapa tini video shoot was one of the most interesting for her.

Working with Nandita and Shiboprosad, according to Monami, was fantastic. She has collaborated with them for a long time. She has also collaborated with them on nonfiction shows. Their writings are fantastic; their audiences always seem to find something they can relate to. They have an unusually distinctive approach to directing. It’s a pleasure to work with them because they’re always so well-organized. It works quite similarly to the way a family does. When the ideas align, it makes for fantastic movies.

Monami said, “There are several,” when asked about her favourite scene. But she particularly mentioned of the opening scene is worthy of special attention. The way it was filmed, the way the scene was illuminated, the background light, everything about it was just gorgeous.

That Soumitra Chatterjee and Swatilekha Sengupta collaboration may be on Monami. Every second of time she got to spend with them was special and will occupy her heart forever. She wished to live forever in those moments, memory and meticulous performance.
