The heartthrob of the TV industry Shaheer Sheikh and his wife Ruchikaa Kapoor have been blessed with a baby girl. The two never announced or talked about their pregnancy on any public platform. Their fans and followers only got to know about it when some of Ruchikaa’s friends shared photos in which her baby bump was visible and later through the baby shower clicks of the couple.
As per a report in BollywoodLife, Ruchikaa gave birth to their first child late Friday night. Expressing his happiness over becoming a dad, Shaheer said, “It has been my dream to be a dad. I always wanted a girl and told Ruchikaa so, whenever she asked.”
When asked what kind of a dad he would be and Sheikh stated that he has no idea about it. “I might spoil my child. But I also know that I will never force my thoughts or views on my child,” he said.
At this moment of joy, Shaheer also recalled a question he answered during a modelling pageant. Sheikh remembered, “I was asked, ‘what would you do if you wake up as a woman one day?’. I replied, ‘I would love to be pregnant. That answer came spontaneously without hesitation! Man’s biggest limitation is that he can never give birth to a child. It is a superpower that only women have. Women are stronger than men to deal with childbirth physically and emotionally.”
Last month, Shaheer had organised a baby shower for Ruchikaa. The close friends and family members of the couple became a part of their small celebration. The list included actresses Krystle D’Souza and Ridhi Dogra. Shaheer, who is popular for his portrayal of Arjun in Mahabharata had kept the theme of the baby shower as both blue and pink and did not drop a hint whether they were expecting a boy or a girl. He also used a wall hanging with the title ‘Baby Sheikh’ written on it. The pictures from the party went viral on social media in no time. But neither Shaheer nor Ruchikaa shared them on their respective social media handles.
Ruchikaa, who is the senior vice president and creative producer of Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd. was spotted with a baby bump for the first time in her friend Nivedita Basu’s party pictures. This confirmed the news of her being pregnant.
Shaheer and Ruchikaa fell in love on the sets of Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Judgemental Hai Kya’. They managed to keep their relationship under wraps for a long time before surprisingly tying the knot last year in November in a court marriage. The couple was planning to host a grand ceremony for their loved ones in Jammu, however, they scrapped the plans due to the pandemic.
On the professional front, Shaheer Sheikh is currently doing Sony TV’s ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3’ and is simultaneously gearing up for the release of Pavitra Rishta 2 opposite Ankita Lokhande. Created by Ekta R Kapoor, the upcoming eight-part web series will be a tribute to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, who played the main lead in the first instalment of the show. The Navya actor will step into the shoes of Rajput as Manav while Lokhande will reprise the role of Archana. The show will premiere on ZEE5 on September 15.
