Karan Johar announced Shanaya Kapoor’s Bollywood debut with Bedhadak in March of this year. Lakshya Lalwani and Gurfateh Pirzada also play major roles in the movie. Fans had been anxiously awaiting news regarding the project, but recent rumours suggested that Bedhadak had been put on hold. Just as things were about to get out of hand, Karan Johar turned to social media to reveal a poster for the upcoming movie that featured the actors and declared that the movie was definitely on schedule.

Shanaya Kapoor has also landed her first Bollywood production, Bedhadak, while Ananya Panday has already achieved stardom and Suhana Khan is about to do so with The Archies. The movie, which is a Karan Johar production, also features Gurfateh Pirzada and Lakshya Lalwani. Recent rumours suggested that Bedhadak may have been put on hold. However, Karan Johar announced on social media that the movie will begin production in the first half of next year. Additionally, the director-producer released a brand-new movie poster with Shanaya, Lakshya, and Gurfateh.

Sharing the poster, Karan wrote, “@shanayakapoor02 @gurfatehpirzada @itslakshya all set to storm the screens next year! Shooting commences first half of next year !!!! #BEDHADAK!!!! (sic).”

Red hearts were left on Karan Johar’s confirmation post by members of the Kapoor family including Shanaya Kapoor’s parents, Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, and Anil and Sunita Kapoor.

Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor, will portray Nimrit in the film. Writing about her debut appearance, Karan Johar wrote, “Introducing the gorgeous @shanayakapoor02 as Nimrit in #Bedhadak. An enchanting force to look out for, I can’t wait to see the energy she brings onto the screen!”

With her debut performance at the Le Bal in Paris in 2019, Shanaya Kapoor gained attention. In 2020, she made her professional debut as an assistant director on her cousin Janhvi Kapoor’s film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. She also made a guest appearance in Maheep Kapoor, her mother, in the popular Netflix web series The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives.

Returning to Bedhadak, Dharma Productions, the production company owned by Karan Johar, is responsible for the movie’s creation.
