Pracheen Chauhan, the actor who played many popular characters on TV shows like Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Hatim, Maat Pitah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg, reportedly got arrested by Malad East Police. After being produced in the Borivali court, he was granted bail. The actor was taken into custody by the police under some high-level charges of molestation. His colleagues from the TV fraternity are in a state of deep shock right now and are also waiting for more details to come out on the same.
According to the sources of TellyChakkar, Pracheen Chauhan got arrested by the Malad Police officials under severe charges of molesting a 22-year-old actress after inviting her to a house party. The actor has been reportedly charged under some serious sections of the Indian Penal Code – 354,342,323, 506(2).
As per the sources, the incident happened when Pracheen invited the girl to his house for a party. Under the influence of alcohol, Pracheen touched her inappropriately, which lead her to step out of the party.
The police officer has said, ” The complainant along with a friend was invited by the accused to his residence on June 30. The accused was drunk and touched her inappropriately. He was produced before the Borivali court today and has been granted bail.”
Pracheen Chauhan’s love life was not much private as his relation with Silsila Pyar Ka fame, Chhavi Pandey grabbed the attention of media since the time it broke out. The two actors never spoke a single word regarding their relationship and portrayed as ‘good friends’ on several occasions and on social media.
In an interview with a leading daily, Chhavi Pandey was asked about the same and she replied, “Pracheen and I have never been in a relationship. He is my good friend, and he is a very good human being. I am very much single and I don’t wish to date anyone at this point in time”. Further, in the interview, the portal also tried to know if they could be back together again to which she said “Well, not every time friendship has to be converted into love. I am happy to be friends with him.”
Earlier last month, the TV industry went through two similar shocking incidents of arrest when popular TV actors, Pearl V Puri and Karan Mehra had to face the Police Station. Pearl was arrested under charges of a sexual offence. He was booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Sections 376 AB (Punishment for rape on woman under 12 years of age) of the Indian Penal Code. The actor is out on a bail right now. Karan Mehra was taken into custody after his wife Nisha Rawal filed a complaint of domestic violence against him.
