With Star Bharat’s new show Channa Mereya, TV actor and host Karan Wahi has ended the long wait of his fans. After a long break of 6 years, Karan has made a smashing comeback as Aditya Raj Singh in the show. In an exclusive interview with a leading daily, the Remix actor shared why he did not take up any opportunities in between this period.

Karan said that though he got some exciting offers, the required commitment to TV kept him away for a while. He stated, “I’ve been offered good stories in the past and there were few which I wanted to do. We all know television is a very big time commitment and while working on TV there’s hardly any time for your personal life. We spend so much time on the sets that we don’t find any time to do other things including holidays. I am not talking about other work I am generally talking about life. You start missing out on the number of leaves or life. That was the only thought which was stopping me from taking up TV commitments. This was the only reason why I was saying no to television and not because I wanted to do 10 different things.”

 

On being asked what made him say a ‘yes’ to Channa Mereya, he quoted, “Just for my mental well-being, especially after COVID. After sitting at home for two years, I wanted to come back to work and be happy. That is the reason I am working. If I don’t like my work, what is the point of working? When everything worked out, now I come happily to work. I love the vibe the show has and I like the people who are working on the show. Our show’s director, I am working with him after 13 years, it’s so much fun. Our DOP is the same person with whom I worked in Remix. I am working with him for 15-17 years. It is also a lot of fun to be on the sets. Creatively I am involved a lot and the production house also gave me a lot of confidence that eventually, it is my show. In television, it is a daily process so sometimes work gets monotonous but for maximum days if you enjoy work, that’s all you want.”

Channa Mereya is gripping the audience with its strong storyline. Viewers are loving Karan’s character and his chemistry with co-actor Niyati Fatnani. Before this, Wahi was seen in &TV’s Kahani Hamari…Dil Dosti Deewanepan Ki.
