On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 76th birthday on September 17, Ranveer Singh pledged to support the education of 1,000 girls as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt also announced their own education-focused initiative, promising to refurbish 20 schools. Ranveer made the announcement after visiting Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja during Ganesh Chaturthi.

Dressed in a white kurta-pyjama, the actor sought Bappa’s blessings and spoke about the happiness his family had experienced over the past year. He then announced his participation in the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, pledging to help 1,000 girls with their education. Ranveer said he hoped the initiative would receive Bappa’s blessings. The pledge comes as part of the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which has been associated with marking PM Modi’s birthday and 25 years of his public service.

Ranveer wasn’t the only Bollywood star to make an education-related commitment. Alia Bhatt revealed that she and husband Ranbir Kapoor will support the refurbishment of 20 schools, with the schools to be selected based on recommendations from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). Sharing her birthday message for PM Modi on X, Alia described the spirit of the campaign as one of collective action and giving back. The couple said their effort would focus on creating better-equipped spaces for children to learn and grow.
