Complaint Filed Against Ajay Devgn, Sidharth Malhotra’s Thank God For Ridiculing Lord Chitragupta

The trailer of Ajay Devgn-Sidharth Malhotra starrer Thank God has been well received by the majority of the audiences. But seems like a certain section of viewers is getting hurt by its content.

As per the latest reports, the film has landed itself in legal trouble. A complaint has been filed against Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra and director Indra Kumar for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of the Kayastha community that worships Lord Chitragupta in their soon-to-be-released film, Thank God.

The case has been lodged through advocates Upendra Vikram Singh and Suriya Singh in the court of Additional Magistrate Monika Mishra. Complainants Anand Srivastava, Brijesh Nishad, Maan Singh, Vinod Srivastava, and Ravi Prakash Pal have told that they watched the trailer of Thank God on September 10, 2022, at 5 pm on social media. As per them, Ajay Devgn has made “poor jokes” about Lord Chitragupta and has used “objectionable words” too in the film.

“Lord Chitragupta was insulted in the trailer. It is an attempt to spread hatred and humiliation. For earning profit and increasing TRP, objectionable scenes were filmed, which has adversely affected communal harmony,” stated the complainants in their petition.

In the trailer of Thank God, we see Sidharth Malhotra meeting with an accident and later sitting in the court of God of justice, Lord Chitragupta, portrayed by Ajay Devgn. Ajay then shows Sidharth a detailed account of his sins and virtues in a funny way. Besides Ajay and Sidharth, the film also stars Rakul Preet Singh.

The complainants have demanded the court take appropriate actions against the accused. The recording of statements in this regard will be done on November 18 this year.
