Actor Ishaan Khatter has received a prestigious honor from the Indian Army after his acclaimed performance in the war drama Pippa. The actor was conferred with honorary membership of the 45th Cavalry Regiment of the Indian Armoured Corps in recognition of his portrayal of an officer from the regiment and for respecting and upholding its values. The emotional moment marked a significant milestone in Ishaan’s career, with the actor describing it as the honor of a lifetime.

He shared photographs and videos from the ceremony on social media, giving fans a glimpse into the special occasion. Released in 2023, Pippa is based on the life of Captain Balram Singh Mehta, an officer of India’s 45th Cavalry Regiment who fought during the 1971 Indo-Pak War on the Eastern Front. The film takes inspiration from real events surrounding the historic Battle of Garibpur and is named after the Soviet PT-76 battle tank used during the conflict.

Among the pictures shared by Ishaan Khatter was a close-up of the commemorative plaque presented to him by the regiment. The plaque carried a heartfelt inscription that read, “45 Cavalry takes pride in conferring Honorary Membership of the Officers’ Mess upon Mr. Ishaan Khatter, in recognition of his portrayal of a 45 Cavalry officer in the film Pippa and his unwavering respect for the ideals of the Regiment. Once a Cavalier, Always a Cavalier.

The ceremony photographs featured several memorable moments, including Ishaan dressed in a crisp white formal shirt and black trousers while posing joyfully with army officers. One candid image showed him striking a dance pose, while another captured the emotional moment when military officials handed over the honorary plaque.

The actor also shared pictures with family members and guests who attended the celebration. Fans additionally noticed a special tennis cap featuring the insignia of the 45th Cavalry Regiment. In one of the videos, Ishaan could even be seen dancing enthusiastically during the event. Expressing his gratitude, the actor wrote, “Receiving honorary membership of the 45th Cavalry of the Indian Armoured Corps is a lifelong honor for me, a unit I can now proudly call my own regiment! There could be no greater honor than this, and I hope to continue contributing to the service of the Indian Army’s bravest and most distinguished members.”
