Kangana Ranaut has once again criticised Kriti Sanon amid the controversy over her Rakhi advertisement. The actress-politician questioned the campaign’s message and also expressed disappointment with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s response to the controversy, describing his remarks and approach as reflecting a “buddhu soch” during the ongoing debate. Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon is facing controversy over her latest Raksha Bandhan advertisement for a jewellery brand. The commercial featured her wearing a revealing blouse while tying a rakhi and celebrating the festival, sparking criticism online.

Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut was among the first to object, publicly calling out Kriti and expressing her disapproval. Although the Cocktail 2 actress has addressed the controversy through a statement, and the advertisement has since been removed, Kangana Ranaut has continued voicing her concerns. Now, she has reacted to Kriti Sanon’s social media post as well as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s response to the controversy, further intensifying the ongoing debate surrounding the advertisement and its portrayal of the festival.
Kangana Ranaut Slams Kriti Sanon’s Statement on Rakhi Ad Row
In an interview with DD News, Kangana Ranaut responded to Kriti Sanon’s remarks on the Raksha Bandhan advertisement controversy, sharing her views on the issue and the actress’s statement publicly. “Woh toh waise bhi unko jis tarah ki filmo mei hum dekhte hai, unko kaun rok raha hai kuch pehenna se? Kisne usne aaj tak roka hai? Kisko kya padi hai ki woh kya pehen kar aati hai? Mujhe nahi lagta kisiko bhi padi hai unke vastron ki (Considering the kind of films we see her in, who is stopping her from wearing whatever she wants? Who has ever stopped her? Who really cares about what she wears or what she comes dressed in? I don’t think anyone cares about her clothes).”

She further intensified her criticism while responding to Rahul Gandhi’s position regarding the controversy. “Itni buddhu soch kaise ho sakti hai? Kisi bhi civilisation ka aesthetic expression hi festival hai… Raksha Bandhan is a religious expression of a civilisation. Uske proper niyam hote hai, jaise puja ke hote hai (How can one have such a foolish way of thinking? The aesthetic expression of any civilisation is reflected through its festivals. Raksha Bandhan is a religious expression of a civilisation. It has certain proper customs and rules, just like a puja does).”

Kangana Ranaut further said that the “bralette” was only a small part of the issue, while other elements also left people “shocked and appalled.” She questioned the festival’s portrayal in the advertisement, asking why it lacked a tikka, family, and other cultural elements. She also questioned those defending the jewellery ad and telling people that clothing does not matter, pointing out that the advertisement itself was promoting something people wear. She urged viewers to consider the broader message behind the campaign.
