Kriti Reveals She Froze Her Eggs in Her 30s
In a recent conversation with Humans of Bombay founder Karishma Mehta, Kriti revealed that she decided to freeze her eggs between late 2019 and early 2022. She shared that she chose the perfect time to undergo the procedure while preparing for her film Mimi, where she had to gain around 15 kg for her role.
Since the film was about surrogacy and she was already expected to gain weight, Kriti felt it was the right time to go ahead with the medical procedure.
Talking about her decision, Kriti said that someone had suggested egg freezing to her as one of the best gifts she could give herself. She agreed and decided to do it during her break from shooting.
“Marriage and Kids Should Happen When You Feel Ready”
Kriti also shared that she never wanted to feel pressured by society’s expectations about when a woman should get married or have children.
The actress said she believes that both marriage and parenthood should happen only when a person truly feels ready, not because of age or social pressure.
According to Kriti, she didn’t want to make such important life decisions just because she was following a timeline. Instead, she wanted the freedom to choose the right time for herself.

The actress described egg freezing as a “safety net” that gives women more freedom to plan their future. She admitted that the procedure is expensive and that she feels fortunate to be able to afford it. Although it isn’t an easy process, Kriti believes it is completely worth it.
Sharing her life philosophy, Kriti said that everyone gets only one life and should live it the way they want.

Apart from her personal revelation, Kriti has also been in the news because of her rumoured relationship with Kabir Bahia. Break-up rumours started after Kabir was spotted with another woman at a wedding in June 2026. However, the speculation soon died down after Kriti and Kabir were seen together at several public events.
While Kriti has not officially spoken about her relationship, her recent appearance with Kabir has put most of the rumours to rest.
