Bollywood actress Preity Zinta is gearing up for her upcoming film, Vibe. In an exclusive conversation with Zoom, the actress credited her husband, Gene Goodenough, for supporting her return to Bollywood. She said his encouragement played a key role in helping her make her comeback to the big screen. Preity Zinta is gearing up for her second release of 2026, Vibe, directed by Kunal Kemmu. The comedy film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 18, 2026.
Ahead of its release, Preity spoke exclusively to Zoom about her Bollywood comeback and revealed how her husband, Gene Goodenough, encouraged her to return to films after a long break. The actress credited him for supporting and motivating her to take up acting projects again. For the unversed, Preity’s Batwara 1947 was released in theatres on August 14, 2026. The film received a mixed-to-positive response from audiences and marked her return to the big screen after years away from acting.
Preity Zinta Talks About Her Bollywood Comeback
In a candid conversation with us, Preity Zinta spoke openly about her Bollywood comeback and shared her thoughts on returning. “My husband changed me. He encouraged me to do films. I was very apprehensive about doing a comeback, but he pushed me to do it. Then, I heard the script of Batwara 1947. I felt it had a very positive message, which I wanted to do. And Vibe just makes me laugh. It is a coincidence that both the films came together. I would not want them to come together because it was very hectic for me right now. There’s always a bigger plan. You have to do your best and have gratitude and go with it.”
For the unversed, Preity Zinta is also the co-owner of IPL team Punjab Kings, as she quipped. “I usually say, ‘Come to the stadium near me’. Now, I have to say, ‘Go, to a theatre near you’. It is made for the theatres. It is important for people to support the film, as it is different.”
She revealed that she had no expectations from the films and confessed that she approached both sets like a newcomer, embracing each experience with a fresh perspective. Preity said: “When I came on the sets of both the films, I told myself that it is round two. I came here as a newcomer. I had no expectations. If you have too many expectations, you come with a lot of weight on your back.”
Preity Zinta’s Bollywood comeback film, Batwara 1947, was directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featured Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and others.
