Taylor Swift Announces New Album ‘Midnights’, All Set To Release In October!

Taylor revealed the release date for ‘Midnight’ at the Video Music Awards, where she won Video of the Year.

Taylor Swift, the singer-songwriter, has announced the release of a new album. The album, titled ‘Midnights,’ will be released on October 21. Swift’s 10th studio album will be released in 2020, following Folklore and Evermore.

Swift made the big announcement last night at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). This was followed by a post on Instagram. At the end of her speech, she mentioned “midnight,” a possible title for the new album.

A total of 13 tracks will be included on the album. In this album, we pace the floors and confront the demons in a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. In the post, Swift wrote: “For those of us who have tossed and turned, kept the lanterns lit and went searching in the hope that when the clock strikes twelve… We’ll meet ourselves.”

Swift announced the new album while accepting the Video of the Year award at the VMAs. Her 10-minute version of All Too Well earned her a third win.

Upon accepting the award, Swift stated, “I couldn’t have re-recorded my albums without you. Your confidence enabled me to do so. If you are going to be so generous and give us this [award], I thought now would be a good time to let you know that my brand new album will be released on October 21. I will let you know more at midnight.”

Swift not only won ‘Video of the Year’ at the VMAs, but she also won Best Longform Video and Best Direction for All Too Well-10 Minute Version-Version. Taylor’s (re-recorded version of Red).

Since her last two original albums emerged from the same burst of creative energy working with the same producers during the pandemic, there’s been speculation as to whether whatever she does next will continue in that more subdued, acoustic, Americana vein, or return to her to the pure pop of 2019’s “Lover” and the albums that preceded it.
