Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi believes that introducing himself as a co-star of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Shahid Kapoor is the only way for him to be considered currently working on a Hindi project as an artist.

Sethupathi is working on three Hindi projects, including the series “Farzi” with Shahid Kapoor, the feature film “Jawan” with Shah Rukh Khan, and “Merry Christmas” opposite Katrina Kaif, In the intervening twelve years, he has established himself as one of Tamil cinema’s leading actors.

“I am taken seriously only when I can tell people that I’m collaborating with Shahid, or that I’m playing the villain in Shah Rukh Sir’s movies, or that I’m working with Katrina and on his first web series, Farzi with Shahid Kapoor. I don’t consider it a debut. I made my film debut in 2010, so it’s been twelve years since I first played a hero. I’ve worked on approximately fifty-five films. I feel like a kid every time I make a film.”

The eight-episode series, created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, is billed as a fast-paced and edgy crime thriller. It revolves around a clever underdog street artist’s pursuit to con the system that favours the rich.

“I learned Hindi while working as an accountant in Dubai for three years, but I hadn’t practised in so many years that I was concerned about my language.” But Raj and DK made him feel at ease and gave him artistic freedom, he claims.

Meanwhile, Vijay is making his digital debut with his first web show, ‘Farzi,’ in which he plays a cop. The Family Man duo Raj & DK created and directed the series.

Kay Kay Menon, Raashi Khanna, Amol Palekar, and Bhuvan Arora play pivotal roles in the series, which will premiere on Prime Video on February 10.

On Professional Front: Vijay Sethupathi, also know as Makkal Selvan, rose to prominence with his work in films such as Super Deluxe, Master, and Vikram Vedha. The actor received the prestigious National Award for his performance as a character in Super Deluxe. He will next be seen on the big screen alongside Shah Rukh in Atlee’s upcoming film ‘Jawan.’

He will also be seen in ‘Merry Christmas’ alongside Katrina Kaif.
