Actor Imran Khan has responded to ongoing speculation about his involvement in a biopic based on entrepreneur Ashneer Grover, clarifying that no official confirmation has been made regarding his casting in the project.
The rumours gained momentum following reports suggesting that Khan had been approached for a role in the film, which is reportedly being developed with Aamir Khan in the lead. The buzz intensified after claims emerged that Imran had undergone a look test for the project, fuelling discussions about his possible return to the big screen.

Addressing the speculation, Imran stated that he is aware of the reports but emphasised that nothing has been locked in so far. He indicated that while conversations may be taking place, there has been no formal agreement or announcement regarding his participation in the film.
The actor’s response comes amid widespread interest in the proposed biopic, which is expected to chronicle the rise of Ashneer Grover, known for his role in building BharatPe and his public persona as a business figure. Reports have also linked other actors, including Shraddha Kapoor, to the project, though details remain unconfirmed.
Imran’s name being associated with the film has drawn particular attention as it would mark a significant step in his acting career after a period of relative absence from mainstream cinema. He was last seen in the 2026 release Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which marked his return to screens after several years.

The actor, however, maintained a cautious stance while addressing the rumours, indicating that he prefers to wait for official developments before commenting further. His remarks suggest that the project is still in a preliminary stage, with casting decisions yet to be finalised.
The Ashneer Grover biopic itself has been the subject of multiple reports in recent weeks, with industry speculation pointing to filmmaker Rahul Mody as a possible director. The film is said to be in early development, with pre-production work underway.
Despite the growing buzz, neither the makers nor the actors involved have issued an official announcement confirming the final cast. The situation reflects a pattern often seen in the industry, where early-stage discussions and reports lead to widespread speculation before formal confirmation is made.
Imran’s clarification appears to address this gap between speculation and confirmation, as he distances himself from definitive claims about his involvement.

The actor’s potential participation has also sparked interest among fans, many of whom have been anticipating his return to prominent roles. His previous performances in films such as Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na had established him as a popular figure, and any new project is likely to attract attention.
For now, the biopic remains in the development phase, with multiple aspects, including casting, still under discussion. Imran Khan’s statement indicates that while the rumours may have some basis in early conversations, no official decision has been made.
