Farhan Akhtar shared a new family photo with daughters Shakya Akhtar and Akira Akhtar, and Actor-wife Shibani Dandekar. The actor-director celebrated the New Year in Goa with friends and family, and it seems his daughter has also joined in the celebration. Shakya and Akira are daughters from Farhan and Adhuna Bhabani’s previous marriage.
On Saturday, Farhan Akhtar shared an unpublished photo with Shibani, Shakya and Akira, who are also reality TV personalities, and posted a series of heart emojis in the caption. In the published photo, Shakya and Akira are sitting side by side on a chair, with Shivani and Farhan standing behind them, smiling and looking at the camera. In response to the post, director Farah Khan and actress Shahana Goswami posted a heart emoji in the comments section. One of the fans left a comment on the family photo: “Touching moment.” Another netizen said, “What a wonderful family.”
Last year, Farhan shared a video of his daughter Akira on Instagram, writing, “It’s been a long journey @akiraakhtar… Go ahead… The world is your oyster.” In the video, Akira sings Tori Kelly’s song ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’ which even impressed Farhan’s wife Shibani Dandekar, who is also a singer.
In an interview with ETimes in 2022, Farhan said this when asked how he feels about his two daughters musically. “Unfortunately, there are no videos of the older one, but both really love music. The older one is teaching herself guitar. They are part of the British Vocal Club where she is currently studying.”
After years of dating, Farhan and Shibani married on February 19 in an intimate wedding at Sukoon, the Khandala farmhouse owned by his father, lyricist Javed Akhtar. The event was attended by Zoya Akhtar, Farah Khan, Hrithik Roshan and others. Shibani first met Farhan in 2015 on the set of the TV show I Can Do It. The show was hosted by Farhan and Shibani was a participant. During this time, Farhan married Adhuna Bhabani and they had two daughters. Farhan and Adhuna separated in 2016 after 16 years of marriage. They divorced in 2017.
