In a recent interview, Vikram once again reflected on his past relationship with former Miss Universe and actress Sushmita Sen, revealing just how difficult his financial situation was at the time.

Vikram Bhatt On Dating Sushmita
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan, Vikram recalled that despite directing major stars and dating one of the country’s most celebrated women, he was struggling financially behind the scenes. “I was a struggling director. I didn’t even have enough money to buy poison,” he said with a touch of irony. “I was directing Aamir Khan and dating Miss Universe, but I had no money. I was completely broke. I remember there was a time when I couldn’t even afford to buy a CD. I have lived the life of a beggar.”

Vikram and Sushmita’s relationship reportedly began during the making of Dastak, which marked Sushmita Sen’s acting debut. At the time, Vikram was working alongside filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Their friendship gradually blossomed into a relationship, though the romance eventually came to an end. Despite their breakup, Vikram maintains immense respect and affection for Sushmita. Reflecting on the people who have been part of his journey, he said that every relationship taught him something valuable.

“Everyone who came into my life gave me something meaningful,” he shared. Vikram further said, “When I look back today, I feel only love and respect for those people. Some gave me love, some gave me their time, and others taught me important lessons about life. Everyone contributed something to my journey.” A few years after his relationship with Sushmita ended, Vikram found love again with actress Ameesha Patel.
