Looking back at that period, she admitted that the social realities of the time made it difficult to balance both a successful acting career and family life. Bhagyashree said, “At the age of 20, I had to choose one path, either choose love, get married, and live my life that way, or enter films and forget about love. It was a matter of priorities. At that time, it wasn’t possible to have both.” Her decision shocked many within the industry, especially because she was considered one of the brightest new stars of that era.
