Malala Yousafzai Ties Knot With Asser Malik In A Low-Key Ceremony; Celebs Pour In Congratulatory Messages

Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai made her nation proud by receiving the prestigious Nobel Prize at a young age. She is an inspiration for millions of girls. Yesterday, the Nobel laureate took everyone by surprise as she got married to Asser Malik in a private Nikaah ceremony at their home in Birmingham.

On Tuesday, Malala shared pictures from her wedding with Asser on Instagram handle and wrote, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”

Soon her comments section was filled with congratulatory messages and blessings for her future married life. Famous names like Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Reese Witherspoon, and other celebrities like YouTuber Lilly Singh congratulated her on her big day.

Malala is the world’s youngest Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Malala at the age of 15 was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012 as she was campaigning for the right to education for girls. She survived the assassination attempt and became a global icon for women’s rights. At the age of 17, she received a Nobel.

In 2015, an American documentary titled He Named Me Malala was made on her life. The film, directed by Davis Guggenheim, got five nominations at the 68th annual Emmy Awards.
