The cross-border couple of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik is one of the most beloved sports pair. It was once a rage among the masses. But in the piece of sad news floating in the rumor mills from a long time now, the duo after facing trouble in their marital bliss of 12 years began contemplating for separation. Till now, neither of the two had commented on the same.
Before this, a close friend of the couple, who was part of Shoaib’s management team in Pakistan had confirmed that the duo has indeed called it quits. In a conversation with Inside Sport, the friend stated that Shoaib and Sania are officially divorced. He refused to divulge more details though.
For the unversed, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got hitched in 2010 in traditional ceremony in Hyderabad. They welcomed their son, Izhann, in 2018.
The separation rumors of Sania and Shoaib began when the former shared cryptic posts hinting at facing ‘difficult times’ on social media. Firstly, she took to her Instagram stories and shared a note that read, “Where do broken hearts go. To find Allah”. In another post, Sania shared a picture with her son, Izhann and wrote, “The moments that get me through the hardest days.”
Recently, the tennis player posted an ambiguous quote that talked about ‘new beginnings’. It was followed by another post that dropped clues on ‘giving herself a break’.
Meanwhile, fans of Sania and Shoaib got a relief after the latter wished his wife on her birthday and the two also announced their talk show ‘The Mirza Malik Show’ together. The show is going to air on UrduFlix this month.
