Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has addressed ongoing speculation linking her to Union minister Chirag Paswan, firmly denying any romantic relationship and describing him as a long-time friend.
The rumours had gained traction on social media following the duo’s frequent public appearances together, including events in Delhi and political gatherings. Their past association, including working together in the 2011 film Miley Naa Miley Hum, further fuelled speculation about a possible relationship.
Responding to the chatter in a recent interview, Kangana dismissed the rumours outright, stating that there is “no romance happening” between the two. She clarified that their bond is purely friendly and rooted in a connection that goes back over a decade.
“No, no, Chirag is a friend. When I see him, I think of a friend,” she said, adding that they have known each other since their film collaboration years ago.
In a remark that quickly went viral, Kangana used humour to underline her point, saying that if there had been any romantic involvement, it would have been evident by now. “Agar romance hota toh aaj hamare bachche hote,” she said, effectively shutting down speculation about a relationship.
The actor further explained that she shares a comfortable rapport with Paswan due to their similar backgrounds in the film industry before entering politics. She said this familiarity contributes to their easy camaraderie, which may have been misinterpreted by observers.
