Vidya Balan has made her mark in the industry and is one actress who knows how to make a movie a blockbuster solely on her performance. Her recently released movie Mission Mangal is also performing greatly on the box office and the actress must definitely be on cloud nine. In one of the interviews that she had during the promotions of the movie, she shared some very shocking things that were a slap on her confidence. One such thing was her casting couch incident.

Vidya Balan recounted her casting couch experience to Pinkvilla in an interview and said that a director in Chennai kept insisting on meeting her in a room. She said, “One day I remember I was in Chennai and this director came to meet me. I said let’s sit in the coffee shop and he kept insisting that he wants to talk to me and that we should go to the room. I left the door of my room open and he left within five minutes. This incident suddenly struck me today when I’m talking about this.”  She also struggled with body shaming and said that it deeply affected her. “Someone wrote that ‘Dress like this, she has no business of getting out, she should stay indoors’. That had affected me so much that for the longest time, I would get dreams of it and get really angry. Today, I don’t let the noise get to me,” she revealed.
