Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor Says Bollywood Has Become More About ‘Who You Date’ And Less About Films; Read On!

Bollywood actor, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor might not have huge box-office collections to his credit but he has delivered many praiseworthy performances within a short span of his career. Born to veteran actor Anil Kapoor, Harsh often grabs headlines for hitting back at trolls who question his journey in the Hindi film industry. Recently, he expressed his concern over Bollywood shifting its focus from films to the dating lives of actors.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Harsh said that at present, audiences are more interested in ‘who’s dating whom’ and other celebrity gossip rather than the work they are doing on screen.

Reacting to a tweet from content creator Anmol Jammwal which showered praises on the latest release of Rajkummar Rao, Human Qureshi and Radhika Apte, Monica, O My Darling, the 32-year-old actor criticized the current perspective of viewers towards actors. “Audiences are satiated by Bollywood blogs and care less about films,” penned Harsh.

Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor turned 32 last week. On his birthday, several articles about him got published by different media houses. While some of them appreciated the talented actor that Harsh Varrdhan is, some others only highlighted the commercial success of his films. This made Kapoor angry. As soon as he noticed such distasteful reporting about him, he went on a Twitter rant and expressed his displeasure over the media for ignoring his artistic development with each of his films and focusing only on his box office failures.

For the unversed, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor debuted with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s film Mirzya in 2016. In a career spanning over seven years, he has given notable performances in films Bhavesh Joshi Superhero, AK vs AK, etc. He was last seen in Thar alongside Anil Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh. His next movie will be Kannan Iyer’s biography of Abhinav Bindra.
